Would I consider going back to school? I don't think so.
I recently decided (recently as in within the last month) that I don't think I want to go back to school. I already have my bachelor's degree, complete with the 150 hours I need for CPA licensing in essentially any state.
For a long time though, I had thought about going to law school. I think even before college started I considered going to law school and wanted to become a corporate lawyer. Slowly but surely though, my desires to go to law school have diminished. Partly because we decided we want to stay in Colorado and I would ideally have gone to University of Texas for law school. Then I didn't get a high enough score on my LSATs to get into Texas anyways, but could still get into DU pretty easily. However, I really don't think it was the lower score that threw me off.
I really just cannot imagine studying again. I have no desire to take another test, read another book I don't really want to read, or listen to a teacher I don't especially agree with.
Not only would I not want to go to law school, there is also is not any other degree that I would be inclined to pursue. It wouldn't really make a difference for a good while in my career, since the CPA is more important. There is not anything that I would want to study that I would need or want a degree for.
The main reason I would want to go back to school is that when my kids are all in school, I would want to to go back so that I would also be able to be home with them more often. This weekend though, Dylan and I realized it would probably make more sense for him to go back for his masters whenever the time comes. So he would be the parent more likely to go back to school and therefore spend more time with the kids.
So right now it is not in the plans for me to go back to school. I'll be sure to keep you updated if anything changes though.
