Five Months

Vander is five months old as of October 30!

He weighs 18 pounds 9 ounces and is approximately 27.5 inches long.

We have started solids and have now made our way through rice cereal, sweet potatoes, carrots, squash, avocado, bananas and peas. Every thing except the avocado was puréed baby food. I think he probably likes peas the best so far. He is fed one solid food meal at daycare and one when we get home. It has been really fun to try a new food every four days! I am definitely looking forward to more solid food so we can share our food with him.

Recently this whole sleep thing has not been going well, especially considering how easy sleep has been for use the first four months. I think of this whole last month, we had maybe a handful of sleeping through the nights. Most nights Vander wakes up once to eat, but we have had a lot of nights where he gets up more than once or he is up for an hour or so in the middle of the night. He has also been learning to roll and also had a stuffed up nose, both of which are causing him some restless sleep. I will hear him fussing or talking and he will be completely asleep. So that has been fun...

Actually fun is playing with him! Vander is getting really good at sitting and can definitely sit on his own, although he does still fall a little bit. He rocks at tummy time and is content to hang out that way for a good bit. Dylan has seen him put his butt in the air so I think crawling isn't too far away. He can grab things really well, pass them between his hands and it is amazing to watch him learn about things. He is super in to learning textures and exploring the world.

Little munchkin just loves people. He loves smiling at everyone. He is so easy going and fun to take to everywhere.

We had a great Halloween party the weekend before Halloween. It was a very successful party and all the parents and babies had a lot of fun!

I am not very good at determine who people look like, but we have been getting a lot of comments that he looks just like Dylan the last couple weeks. Right now Vander's hair is definitely straight instead of Dylan's curls, so we will see how that all works out.

It has been another great month and I think November will be a lot of fun :)
