Italy Bound!

We finally were able to book our trip to Italy!

We decided to refinance as of a couple weeks ago and so we had to wait until after that went through before buying our trip. Which totally works out since the refinancing will end up paying for most of our trip.

Now I can finally give you the details we have booked. There are still a lot of details I want to plan and a couple of days/times I want to leave more open so we can do whatever feels right when we are actually out there.

Day 1: Land in Rome in the morning.

Nights 1-3: Stay at the Holiday Inn Express San Giovanni in Rome

It is near the train and bus stations for easy access to the heart of Rome and Vatican City. Right now we don't have any specific plans for Rome, but we are anticipating doing one day of "church" stuff and one day of "Roman" stuff.

On Day 4 we will take a train from Rome to Florence, where we will rent a car for driving around Tuscany.

Nights 4-6: Our hotel is really cool looking. It's called a villa but a couple reviews said it was more of a castle that dates back to the 13th century. It is about 20 miles east of Florence.

While in Tuscany we know we want to go over to Sienna one day, which is about an hour and a half from where we are staying. Again we need to look into where exactly we want to go. This is probably be the most low-key part of the trip and it will be nice for Dylan and I to just hang out and enjoy each others company.

Day 7 we will drive back to Florence and return the car.

Nights 7-9 are in the Delle Nazioni Hotel. It looks really modern and has a great view of the Duomo (first dome built by scaffolding and not filling in the building to construct it, or something cool like that).

We are doing a cooking class one evening while we are in Florence, which we are really excited about. Maybe it will inspire us to try them here in the states since we have always wanted to.

Day 10 we have an early flight back home. We get back on a Friday afternoon, so it will be nice to have a couple days to recoup before going back to work.

That is the basic lay out of our trip! We are getting super stoked about it! I think we'll be pulling out our Italy book soon to see what places we especially want to see and to maybe start learning some Italian phrases.
