The Big 2-4

It was my birthday last weekend! I love my birthday, because it is all about me and let's be honest, I like attention.

What I don't like is the timing of my birthday. It is two weeks after Christmas, so that means everyone is kind of sick of seeing people and I don't really need or want much since it was just Christmas.

It also always seems to snow on my birthday and since it is after Christmas, I hate snow. It blizzarded when I was born and this year it snowed too. This is a big part of why I got married in July. A) Spread it out! and B) so I can celebrate in the summer.

Anywho, it was a great birthday weekend!

Friday night I made Dylan go to The Container Store to bum around and get ideas. (I think I will be using the elfa system to do my desk in my office... more on that when the time comes). Then he took me to the Melting Pot (my favorite restaurant) for a Great Late Night that includes the cheese, salad, chocolate and a bottle of wine for $47 a couple! Great deal and you don't have the meat which is good, but not when compared to everything else!
Getting ready for some deliciousness!

Our Chocolate Turtle fondue

A heart someone before us drew on the window. It looked so cool with the foggy window and lights outside
Saturday, my actual birthday, I had my mom make me waffles, so we headed over there. Then we took my dad with us to go see Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. It was very well done, but admittedly a little slow in parts (it is a British movie, so a different style than typical American films). The actors did a great job. Then we hung out at home and we watched Crazy Stupid Love. Dylan never lets me watch chick flicks, so being my birthday I finally got to. He really liked it (I had seen it before) and we both laughed a lot. Then we got ready and headed out to dinner and to spend the evening with my friends.

We went to the Rio, a Mexican restaurant in Colorado. They are known for their very strong margaritas.
I had a small margarita for my second one since I knew we had quite a night ahead of us!
Then we headed up towards LoDo and walked bu 1UP, an arcade bar, and decided that would be a good time.

They have arcade games all around and a bunch of sets of giant jenga. So we set about playing that.

Then we decided to head to a bar back closer to home, that also happens to have my most favorite drink :) On the way to the car in the parking garage, I apparently thought it would be a good idea to have a skipping race to the car... Then I sprained my ankle right when I got to the car. Well I won (granted no one else decided to join...) and my ankle only hurt for a little bit (until 5:30am that night...).

Then we made it to Baker's Street and I got my Sex on Baker's Street (Vodka, rum, peach schnapps, pineapple, orange and cranberry juice. It's like freaking water to me, terribly dangerous). They have a live band every night and when the band asked if anyone had anything exciting going on we yelled that it was my birthday and they said Happy Birthday to me and then played Don't Stop Believing by Journey and it was amazing. Then they went on break and came and said hi to me and gave me hugs and chatted. It was pretty sweet! Bad Boyfriend was the band (had to go look online), but they were really great!

Then we headed home. As I alluded, I woke up at 5:30am and remembered my ankle hurt. I had it up and iced all morning Sunday. This meant that Dylan did the cleaning (kind of... he wasn't a thorough as we needed). Then we headed over to a family friend's house to watch the Broncos game. EPIC VICTORY! No matter what, we did way better than my wildest dreams this season, so I'll take what I can get! Then we headed to the Outback for my birthday dinner with my parents, my grandma and one of my aunts. Delicious :)

That pretty much wraps up my birthday weekend! It was an great success and I am definitely looking forward to what being 24 will bring!
